CY (Container Yard)

It serves as a staging area for full containers that are waiting to be shipped or collected for inland transport. The CY is also where containers are picked up by truckers or other modes of transportation for delivery to their final destination. The term CY/CY refers to the point-to-point transportation arrangement where a full container is delivered from one container yard to another, covering the journey from the loading point to the unloading point.
