FCL (Full Container Load)

FCL, meaning Full Container Load, describes a situation in which the shipper uses the entire contents of a 20- or 40-foot sea container to ship goods.

Full container load (FCL) shipping describes sea freight transportation for cargo loads large enough to fill a 20- or 40-foot shipping container. The shipper is using the entire container for goods, and so the cargo will be loaded and sealed at the origin factory then unloaded when it reaches the destination warehouse.

The common container sizes are: 20’, 40’, 40 HC (High cube), 45’ HC (High cube).
